A Great Room is a large, functional space within a home that is typically designed with high ceilings to give a sense of volume. They are becoming a modern feature of NZ architecture as they increasingly meet our lifestyle needs for a large central area for family and friends to congregate. As the hub of the home, the Great Room can incorporate the kitchen, dining and living area in an open plan format.
Great Rooms
We have some standard Great Room designs based on 4.8m, 6m and 8m wide modules but can also work with you to create a custom space by incorporating one of our standard truss designs. We can also provide link way designs to join the Great Room to a bedroom wing or garage wing.

These frames can have either straight queen posts or cantered queen posts and can be made from new NZ grown Douglas Fir or Macrocarpa or from reclaimed barn timbers.
