Heritage Timbercraft is a New Zealand owned business based in Kimbolton in rural Manawatu and serving customers throughout New Zealand. We love the beauty and warmth that characterises old timbers as well as the history that comes with them. We also love craft and it is a privilege for us to be working with our hands crafting spaces and furniture and teaching craft to others. Our background is in traditional post and beam joinery, having co-founded a traditional post and beam company in New Zealand over 15 years ago.
We love working with clients to design and create beautiful spaces or features that will enhance their home. We source local heritage materials in addition to materials from antique barns that we source from Canada and the USA. We have a strong connection with Heritage Barns, a Texas based restoration and building company that has been in the barn business for over two decades and is now the largest historic barn company in the USA. We work with them or local NZ designers to offer clients a full design service to help select the best material, design the space of your dreams and complete the engineering and plans so that it is ready to pass on to your local builder. We also make a wide range of gates, doors and furniture with a heritage theme.
We are located in the rural Manawatu in a beautiful small town called Kimbolton. As a group of five families looking for a better life, we moved up here 3 years ago and purchased the 120 year old Hansens building which we renovated extensively and now operate as the Hansens Cafe and Store. We are open Thursday to Saturday and offer a dining experience in a peaceful environment with a heritage theme. Click here for more about our cafe and home town..
